NASME NATIONAL COUNCIL INAUGURATES ANAMBRA NASME EXECUTIVES


The National Executive Council of NASME has inaugurated the newly elected Executives of its Anambra Chapter.


The National Executive Council led by Amb Odi Nwosu who is the National Deputy President (Admin and Finance) and Pharm Ikenna Okoroafor the South East Zonal Vice President admonished the new Executives to uphold the vision of NASME in Anambra and ensure that Small and Medium Scale Businesses have an enabling platform for growth and development.


In his acceptance speech,the Chairman NASME Anambra State Hon Chinemerem Oguegbe thanked the National representatives for their dedication in ensuring lasting peace in Anambra NASME. Chinemerem reiterated the fact that SMEs contribute to the growth of State economy and promised that he will do all within his powers including partnering with Government and relevant stakeholders to ensure the growth and development of SMEs in Anambra State.


Giving his vote of thanks,the outgone Chairman of Anambra State NASME who is currently the Representative of Private Sector in NASME National Council Hon Theo Nnorom pledged to support the incoming Executives and urged them to do their best in promoting the growth of SMEs in Anambra


Also amongst the delegation were the State Chairman of NASME Enugu State Sir Dr Ozed Obiekwe,his Imo State Counterpart Hon Ahamefula Nwaruh and other stakeholders from the zone.

Objectives and Goal of Anambra State Education Digitization Summit . The facts

 

ABOUT THE SUMMIT

This summit is a follow- up to the 2020 e-conference held in Anambra State tagged “FACING THE NEW NORMAL: POST COVID-19 EDUCATION IN ANAMBRA STATE”; which was predicated on the outbreak of Covid-19 and its consequent effects on the education sector in particular.
ANSED Summit 2022 will be a virtual cum on-site event tailored to bring together top ICT organizations in Nigeria and Africa that will meet the ICT needs of Anambra State in bridging the digital divide within the state’s basic education ecosystem. It will also set a digital education development agenda for the achievement of educational excellence and boosting effective teaching and learning in line with the new normal in Anambra State Basic School System.

Digitalization of Anambra State Basic Education System

SUMMIT GOAL

The goal of Summit is to bridge the digital divide in the State Basic Education system by bringing together top ICT organizations, Education stakeholders and relevant Government agencies as well as international agencies that will help the State meet its ICT needs in Education.

 

OBJECTIVES OF THE SUMMIT

The specific objectives of the Summit include to:

  •  Set a digital education development agenda for the achievement of educational excellence in Anambra State Basic School System.
  • Engage key stakeholders to map out the way forward in bridging the digital divide and achieving digital education in line with international standards.
  • Foster partnerships and collaborations for the development of ICT infrastructures and digital education solutions in Anambra State.
  • Create awareness on the need to adopt and use digital education solutions in schools and among students as well as continued digital literacy training and professional development among teachers and students.
  • Determine investment channels and opportunities for the development of ICT infrastructures and digital education solutions in Anambra State.
  • Officially launch One-Student-One Laptop Project

 *ONE STUDENT ONE LAP INITIATIVE* :  THE PANEL DISCUSSION ON ONE STUDENT ONE LAP LED BY PROF KATE AZUKA OMENUGHA.  DR UCHE NWORA OF ABS AWKA IS PART OF THE PANELISTS.  THE ANCOPPS PRESIDENT FOR ANAMBRA STATE,  MR JOVITA ARAZU, AMONG OTHERS, WELCOMED THE IDEA OF *ONE STUDENT ONE LAPTOP.* MOST IMPORTANTLY,  TEACHERS, WHO ARE *DIGITAL MIGRANTS* ,  ARE CALLED UPON TO GET READY TO FACE THE CHALLENGES INCLUDING ENSURING THAT THEY HAVE SOMETHING THAT WILL SATISFY THE DIGITAL- NATIVE GENERATION WHICH THEIR STUDENTS/PUPILS REPRESENT. THEREFORE, THE PANELISTS ARE OF THE VIEW THAT AS THE CAMPAIGN FOR STUDENTS TO HAVE A LAPTOP IS ON, TEACHERS MUST BE READY AHEAD OF THE TEACHERS IN EQUIPPING THEMSELVES OF LAPTOP AND ITS KNOWLEDGE,  ATTITUDES AND SKILLS.  THE HON COMMISSIONER IS OF THE VIEW THAT THE REPORT OF THE SUMMIT WILL ASSIST THE INCOMING ADMINISTRATION UNDER PROF CHARLES CHUKWUMA SOLUDO.
